Last night, as I suspected the concert went on like a total blast for everyone. I guess ppl re not just entertained by the ability of the musicians, but also the performance was a real tribute to God. Well, there were some major and minor mistakes, but I think there is a spirit of music that night. From the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 up to the Messiah, everybody was excited about the whole thing. To sums up, although there are some disturbances and miscalculation, the whole concert was a real thrill.
The crowd was nice too, after being told to silent their mobile, or any electronic device, that can shout hahahaha, the crowd was in a complete stillness, so everybody can hear the concert and concentrate on the orchestra full repertoir. Salute, to the pianis Ms. Jessie Cheng, the conductor Mr. Jahja Ling, the Capella Amadeus, for their discipline and hard work, to Eric Awuy, and all the member of the orchestra. From the first movement until the Rondo (Allegro) was a complete musical blast for everyone for sure, at least it is for me.
The second part of the night was the Messiah, the whole thing was not as good as it should, eventhough it was not a turn off at all. As usual, thanks to the great sound of the Tenor, Mr. Armando Chen Rong, the sweet sound of Ms. Chen Mei Lan, the dark and mysterious sound of Ms. Anna Koor, the Alto (I'm your big fans ma'am!! ;)), and the macho sound of the bass, Mr. Lee Ta Jen, the whole concert was a nice one although, from my point of view, there are some major mistakes that kinda ruined the mood of the oratorio it self. The choir was a big too much in the sound either, but thanks to Prof. Wen Shen, and his team, the whole sound system set, was really a big help for the clumsy mistakes.
At last, I want to be grateful for Mr. Stephen Tong, for showing a great respect for the music and to the Ministry in Music, as for his endless effort to the Ministry of THE WORD in Indonesia, and through out the world, from him I learned so many things, and still will until only God's know. I, my self, try to do my best, but rather disappointed to myself due to some moment when I completely like loosing my concentration, and missed some important note of my NOVELLO score. But, I did make it up in the next song. So, hopefully today will be better then yesterday. Let all of us SHOUT:
"Soli Deo Gloria"
Only to GOD be the Glory. Amen.
